I live in SOUTH AFRICA, Cape Town but am originally from Johannesburg. I have moved my office / nursery to Cape Town since December 2015.
I am a mom of 2 beautiful kiddies. About 10 years ago while I was working half day as a PA I started feeling the need to find something I can do that I can be passionate about. I have always had a love for babies, when I was little I would cut out pictures of babies and had a book full of babies just so I could look at them. Then I finally had my own babies and I realized just how beautiful and precious they are, as well as hard work. Anyway, they are growing up fast, 17 and 13 years old. I definitely don’t want another baby, but still love looking at and holding newborn babies and this is how I got into making reborn babies.
I came across a reborn baby and my interest was sparked. I thought I would love one of these for my daughter of 8 at the time, who, also like me absolutely loves babies. So I started researching and researching and researching for months and found out that I could make my own reborn baby right here in South Africa, Johannesburg. WOW how exciting. I went on a course to get myself trained and I started making my own reborn babies and I LOVE it, it is a lot of fun and a lot of hard work.
I get so much joy out of each reborn baby that I make. Each reborn baby is unique just like real newborn babies and a lot of love and attention to detail goes into each one too!
I see people searching for cheap reborn babies but reborn baby dolls are not cheap because a lot of work is put into each reborn baby. I take a vinyl doll kit and transform it with numerous time consuming steps of several layers, baking and attention to fine detail to ensure that each reborn baby doll resembles a human baby with as much realism as possible.
I now have 2 lovely ladies helping me with the babies. They have as much love and passion as `I do.
Reborn babies are just like real newborn babies and need to be cared for correctly too. I have more information on my page “How to care for your reborn baby”.
